Behind the scenes; The Water of the Womb

We were lucky to have the talented eye of photographer Erhan Tirli on the set of The Water of the Womb to document the production process, and occasionally, assist digging a hole. Please enjoy this extensive gallery of behind-the-scenes images captured across a four-day production in Naarm’s Northern suburbs (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country).

With the key location being Barış’ grandparents home, and the Ulusoy family home for three generations; The yard was unkept for a period of six months leading up to production to create an organic, lush and overgrown environment, under the eye watchful of Production Designer, Madelin Latomanski. The director confesses their decision was made after watching Alice Rohrwacher‘s drama, Happy As Lazzaro (2018) and learning that the tobacco farms were grown for the purpose of production.
