The Long Term Release

The things we do to save a buck or two. On a fateful day in the city of Geelong, our unwilling hero flies in from a romantic-trip gone-bad, and he can’t remember where he left his vehicle. ‘It’s probably just around this corner’ our determined dropkick thinks while passing through every field, freeway and farm on his adventure-come-descent into madness.

The improvised scenes shine through, but the fact that director Guillermo Ignacio stitched this story together on the way to the set is not obvious by any means. Sources say that the auteur was zapped by an electric fence during the making of the film and thus made it a part of the story. Such are the whims of a true artist.

Lead actor William C. Thomson puts in a powerhouse performance for the ages, as a nameless man who dreams to one day get home from the airport. “There wasn't much direction in how we were going to do this", said Thomson about his preparation. "I had to be an asshole and walk with a limp. I tried doing the old rock-in-the-shoe trick, but I gave up after a few hours when it was hurting too much."

You can watch the film here, and watch it with live commentary by William C. Thomson from our online release party here.
